I wonder how much the refletivity will be compromised?

With discs having printed top side, I can clearly see difference in reflectivity using normal light devices. Of course, with properly focused laser optics this is probably not so much of an issue, but there is an effect regardless.

Hence the reason I try to use discs with blank (but protected) top side.

DVD media is located at the center of the disk. Unlike CD's.. So whats on top does not matter. Just surprised it took them so long to bring it out since we have had thermal printing for decades.

I wonder if they developed this in portland...

Looks good, even in monochrome.

Interesting that Verbatim/MCC is first with the media. The last reports I read mentioned MBI (at a price premium of ca. 10%).
