I've just updated the exe again: When running over the Nero log files over and over, I found out how to read the current setting :)

I am now noticing that after bitsetting using Alexnoe bitset.exe that the setting is retained after a complete powerdown of the PC. Even did a shutdown and disconnected power completely, after reconnecting power and rebooting bitset.exe reports that the DVD-ROM setting is retained. Can anyone else confirm this behavior?

EDIT: I see above Madbeaver reported that DVD-ROM setting survived reboot (set with Plextools 2.17).

Well, with PlexTools being in the Autostart, it doesn't count, but in your case, that's funny

EDIT just tried it out. Indeed! The drive seems to keep that setting in its firmware
