Hello!

I read at CDRInfo.com that OptoRite will release their 2nd 16x DVD-writer 1603 with a Sanyo-chipset. Knows someone further details?

Since they don't have any specs, I have a feeling that report is based on a lot of speculation. Do I believe it though? Sure, why not.

I'll email OptoRite today and see what I can find out.

Hello!

That can be interesting what OptoRite says :)

I wonder why OptoRite make the 1601 with a non-Sanyo-chipset

Probably to get something out there? Everyone else is releasing 16x drives. Hopefully HD-Burn will return.

I agree with jgs9455. It's probably just to get something out there. Considering the drive looked a lot like one of CyberDrive's drives, its possible they just rebadged one to get something on the market.
