I would not. It's full of biased nonsense with no real facts to back it up and it's written by a guy who has proven several times that he misses some very basic knowledge about DVD writing.

Hi there. Can anyone tell me how can I get DVD-RAM media in Romania?
I've just bought an LG GSA-4120B.

Oh, sorry, maebe this isn't the topic to post my question but is it normal that a burned cd to have "circles" on it like it was written with multisession? (But i haven't written it that way).

Hi all,
newbie here. Too bad this is outdated and biased because it was exactly what I was looking for! Does anyone have an updated Media ID Quality Guide and a Branding Guide? I tried reading the Best Media sticky but it too looks outdated. I've read a couple q's where people are asking advice about specific media but a guide would sure make it easier. If anyone is qualified to write guides like these, I would think it would be this forum's regulars.

The problem is that media is ever changing, and every drive's compatability is different.

For example, Taiyo Yuden is generally considered to be one of the best media types available, if not *THE* best. But my friend's Pioneer DVR-106 (considered one of the most compatable drives, if not THE most compatable) cannot burn Taiyo Yuden's 8x DVD+Rs properly (the DVR-106 is a 4x drive, but even has problems burning at 4x on the 8x media).

These little inconsistancies can make a general guide very difficult to make :o

I have to say though that I generally agree with his good/bad/indifferent media list... most of the discs are in the places I would put them as well.
