I just bought a nec 3500 (ordered last night from newegg) and was looking around for the latest/best firmware for it. I ran accross this latest hacked TDK firmware (2C8 SE) on cdfreaks. The moderator "Emperor" was really pushing it. Since their have been issues with regards to impartiallity on that forum I was hoping for some feedback from some people here at CDRLabs. The big advantages are that it apparently enables booktype setting (sl & dl), removes the riplock, and allows 4x burning on Riteck dl media. It also is supposed to use the latest writting stratagies. They were eluding to 4:30 burns at 16x. Any comments or suggestions would be much appreciated.

Thx

I use it on my new 3500 with no issues, so I would recommend it.

Sorry, got the forums confused a little (was all over last night). Interestingly though, the file references http://binflash.cdfreaks.com. I just assumed that the file came from the same site as the guy promoting it. My appologies.......for we all know that when we assume we make an ass out of u and me.........

Also thx govern1 for the quick response......
