Please forgive the stupid noob question. But I notice in the signatures of many of you folks, that you have 3, 4 or more DVD burners. Are all of these in service at once? I'm curious because of the 3 PCs I've owned, each of them had room for only 2 external 5.25" drives. Are you guys all using external USB/Firewire enclosures? Do you have PCs that you've put together yourself with mega tower cases with 4 or more external drive bays? Or are 2 of your 4 drives sitting in the closet with all of the other PC gear you've collected :)

Most cases that you buy for home-built 'puters have 4 internal 5" drive bays, some have 6. The real problem is not the case, but where to connect all the drives.

Here's the local configuration:
One SATA CDRW drive perched on top of the case.
4 internal IDE burners connected to motherboard IDE channels.
One external firewire burner.

Piles of burners on the shelf.

One can never have too many burners.

judas priest! Forget about four burners. You could probably house four small dogs quite comfortably in that thing :o
