looking for good media for pioneer DVR-A07XLA. Any suggestions?

I've been using CompUSA (Princo). It works good for everyhing but copying DVD's. I'm tired of making so many coasters.

try ritek g04 media or ultimate media that is TY

In the admittedly brief experience I had with an A07XLA, I found that both TYG02 and MXLRG03 burned excellently on it (based on Kprobe and Plextools scans), with the Maxell discs having a slight edge over the Taiyo Yudens. Pioneer drives should burn discs from the big Japanese media manufactureres quite well (TY, Maxell, TDK, Mitsubishi).

This may sound stupid but how do you tell where it's made. Is it as simple as reading off of the box?

Made In Japan is generally TY, but could also be Maxell or TDK or Sony..
And yeah, reading off the box is all you need to do.

Sorry that I messed things up but I just corrected someone else who thought the POS MID was Princo and 5 minutes later I see this comment on the board that princo = POS.
So next I assume again a screw up. Didn't come up at that time that Hoxlund mend the abbreviation of Piece Of Shit which does fit with Princo.

Hmm well next question is did Postech choose the POS code because there media are also Piece Of Shit so the mid fits the description.

POS could mean posistive too... :wink:

You have to be careful with acronyms or trendy names- they tend to mean different things in different languages (just look at the hoops they jumped through before landing with Exxon).

Another example is QualComm (Eudora E-mail)- with obvious allusions to quality. However, Qual is German for agony (or torture or anguish), which is something I don't really need in software (it comes free of charge anyway). :roll:

there is a japanese 4x4 van called Pajero (i can't remember which brand - Toyota Nissan or some such).
i heard that it's called Pajero everywhere except in Spain.
apparently it means "jerk off" :lol:
