Looking at the reviews for media, Seems like everyone is having good luck with Verbatim MCC (Not CMC?) media. Looking for somewhere I could purchase these, I've seen several sites sell Verbatim 16x, but I don't want to play the game of purchase and find out. Anyone know of a reputable dealer with these? I don't have a 16x drive yet, but i'll use em in my 1300 til I get one. Hopefully sooN! :)

ANy help appreciated....should I be considering different media?

Buy.com has a great deal and free shipping if you buy over $25:

http://www.buy.com/retail/product.asp?sku=10382152&hdwt=22105&loc=14975&sp=1

Or you can go to Best Buy if there's one near where you live and get a 25pack for $24.99.

I'm not sure what you mean by "game of purchase". 16x Verbatim DVD+R is always advertised as having Advanced AZO dye which means it will always be MCC004.

Posts i've been reading say some are CMC . Otherwise I wouldn't be asking, Meritline and such have Verbatim's for much cheaper than Buy.com and Bestbuy.

I think you're getting a little confused. All of the Verbatim 16x DVD+R sold in the USA are made in Taiwan (most likely by CMC), but they carry the MCC004 media code as they are made using Mitsubishi Chemical's dye and equipment. You aren't going to find any Verbatim 16x DVD+R that carries a CMC media code.

If you'd rather buy locally, try Best Buy and Circuit City. Both carry them as well.

Micro Center has them too if you want to go to a B&M store, not sure if you have on where you are or not.

CMC is only one of Verbatim's OEM partners in Taiwan

The best price I have found is a 25 pack for $17.81. There is a $10.00 rebate from Verbatim which makes your final cost $7.81. They can be purchased at the link below.
