It looks like the Plextor PX-716A will have some competition soon...

Liteon is in all tests more worse than every Plextor, when it comes to writing-quality. BTC and Optorite is also more worse than Plextor.

Have you seen the results for the PX-716A so far? They're fairly awful.

Still better than the SOHW-1633S from what I've heard, scary as it is.

Every Liteon-drive that comes to the market is a case for the emergency surgeon

Ok, they increase the quality with new FW´s, but that´s absoluty necessary; and how many updates you need til the Liteon has the writing-qualiy of a LG, NEC, Benq and Pioneer? Many, if this ever happens that the quality of a Liteon comes close to some other brands

Plextor don´t have the best writing-quality with new drives, but always better that Liteon, BTC and Optorite.
