Sony DRU710A - burn speed/media and Nero questions
Posted: Fri Dec 17, 2004 7:34 pmI heard that (from reading this forum) that some of you are burning DVDs at 16X even when the DVD media is rated for 4X/8X and I am just wondering how can you tell if a particular burner can actually do 16X?
I have the DRU-710A and using Sony's own 8X DVD R+ disc, I can burn at 8X under 8 minutes with no problem, however this particular burner is rated for 16X using DVD R+ disc. Also, when using Nero 6, it only shows the 8X as max speed and there is no 16X for me to select from.
I am just wondering if I am to use another brand of disc, will Nero then possibly show the 16X option? and how can you tell if a particular brand of disc will do 16X or not before the actual burn process? Thanks for you help/feedback.
