Bought one and haven't recieved it yet. Since it has no audio cable output, is there any software in the bundle that will permit listening to audio CDs anyway? Does anyone make software to do this?

Thanks,
P

If you are running WinXP, you should not need the cable. The audio signal is sent as data.

Enable the "digital audio" option in device manager, and you can hear audio CDs through the data cable.

Thank you for taking the time to reply. I'm using Win2000, so I suppose there is a similar setting in Device Manager. If not--?

Thanks again,
P

Just a little update here. Installed drives, went to device manager, clicked on the drives, right click properties and there it is, the little check box for digital CD playback. Checked it, restarted, and I'm rockin'

Thank you folks!
