LITE ON LVW-5001 SIGNAL HELP!

hi guys im new to the forums and need this problem solved

i have a lite on lvw 5001 dvd recorder

i am trying to record from video to dvd

i have a pal dvd recorder and a pal sony video player

the tape i am trying to tape onto dvd is a ntsc tape but my sony video player plays ntsc videos fine..the video plays fine through the televsion and if i run it though the lite on dvd recorder.

but when i go to record it to dvd it wont let me as it says "Wrong Signal Type"

is there any way around this problem?

also i have tried a ntsc to pal signal converter and that dont work either

can someone solve this? :D

Sorry, I have no experience with those models. I would have thought the separate converter would have been the right track. This isn't a Macrovision copy protection issue, is it?

thanks for the reply but no a seperate ntsc to pal coverter does not work

and with macrovsion on this machine you get a "protected content" message

but my machine is saying "wrong signal type"

i really need to solve this

Did you try recording the NTSC signal directly with the system configured as NTSC format? I don't know exactly how to do that, since I don't own and have never used this recorder, but I would suspect there might be something in the set up menu to do this.

If that works, at least you would have transfered from tape to DVD, and then you could rely on the player's automatic signal conversion to convert to PAL on playback.

Well, that exhausts my limited knowledge. Hopefully someone else can give you a hand. Did you try the forums at VideoHelp.com?

why dont you try going on proper forums like www.videohelp.com
They'll most likely have the answer, or try contacting liteon..webpage

Also upgrade the firmware, disable microvision using hacks available on the webpage
