Has anyone noticed a significant rise in Ritek G05 coasters? I've seen a couple of complaints from people lately that some Ritek G05 media is SERIOUSLY flawed!

Complaints seem to be for Regular Silver Matte, as well as the white inkjet printable, and white inkjet printable to the hub as well.

It may be unrelated, but my last order to Ritek USA had this response:

I don't know about other people, but EVERY TIME a repackaging plant has been involved with an order of media, SOMETHING isn't right with it. Maybe I'm just paranoid?

Anyways, please keep your eyes on Ritek G05 media, especially if you live in North America, and please PLEASE let me know if you experience a higher then usual coaster ratio.

I´m not a Ritek-Fan, but I used some G05 with my LG GSA 4082, the error-rate is very low, never had coasters. But my LG burned the G05 only at 4x

I used the Ritek G05 with my LG GSA 4082(burns only at 4x) and Pioneer DVR MCC, great quality and no coaster

The Kprobe-results show me much lower error-rates than with Ritek G04

My LG 4120B turns out some pretty bad quality for G05. Latest firmware enables 8x writing on G05 (a little late, but whatever), but writing to my G05 makes an instant coaster. I now only use my crappy G05 when I burn non-important movies for friends or something. Really weird, IMO. Ritek went from bad, to good, to great, and back to bad. Oh well, TY is cheap now...

I'm more looking for situations where the Ritek media was working properly, but then stopped working. Basically, I'm looking for an increased number of bad discs, or bad batches.

I know we're talking about Riteks but to digress a little recently I've been getting some really bad discs from Maxell 25 spindles. So much so I absolutely refuse to buy them anymore and have decided to use strictly TY and Verbatim DataLife Plus from now on. Also some of the worst media I've come across recently have been BenQ 8x DVD+R and Prodisc DVD-R. Quality control seems to have been non-existent with the spindles I bought.

Don't worry Seaegg, I'm working with CBit.ca and working on getting them to start carrying Optodisc's Acro Circle line of 8x DVD-Rs for people like yourself. It looks like there's a new movement in Canada starting where stores are switching from Prodisc 8x DVD-Rs to Optodisc (specifically Acro Circle). Just watch out for the Optodisc they sell right now, which is the Generic 8x DVD-Rs with the TYG02 code.

As for Maxell... I'd love to hear the details if you don't mind? could you PM me about it.

The Canadian stuff is more consistant then Europe

Also... when compared to Prodisc's media, Optodisc 8x DVD-Rs tend to be better anyways, especially when you compare OPTODISCR008 to crap like PRODISCF01!

Predictable answer. I allready new that you would come up with Prodisc F01 but we probally have seen the last of those.
But still it's true.

True... however I'm not keen on Prodisc's MCC 02RG20 code media either

Well the pieces with MCC 02RG20 I have seen branded as verbatim were quite okay.
Still I have my doubts about the overall manufactureing quality and the longlivety in the end.

Well, I'm sure what they give Verbatim is going to be their best media... but I highly doubt that we can expect that from their general generic media.
