Matshita DVD-RAM UJ-811 problem copying files to dcd rom

whenever i try to copy my file to the dcd, the window will reponse by saying that there is an error when copying file to the dvd.
my driver is in my laptop nec versa p720
can anyone help me

Not sure you're going to want to hear this! I have a Toshiba 5205 series portable...and it uses the U-810 drive. The next version of this laptop has the UJ-811 drive. Toshiba has been replacing both drives alot. Seems that they are not the best made / most sturdy drives you can find. I have had mine replace about a month ago and the replacement won't write at all. Luckily it still reads...so I hooked up a USB 2.0 writer to the port and that's how I now burn. If your machine is under warrantee...you might call NEC and get the drive replaced...to read more about the issues thei the Matshita drives go to
