Not the right boad I think but there isn't a board for posting any optical information about other formats as the current once and there only is a general questions harware section and it's not a question I also think that place was not the right spot.
So that's why I pust it here.
So Ian were do I put future post like this ? I know some folks on the board are interested in the stuff.

EVD is from the last things I heard still a read only format however they are looking at a writable and rewritable version. *

(* Now let's hope that all the crap hongkong manufacturers like vanguard/ infosmart will only make disc's for these formats and quite the DVD business. :D )

This part of the forum is fine. DigiTimes also had a story about it:

It looks like TheReg based their article on DigiTimes'.

With the rumoured release price of films being in the region of $1 USD / film for EVD, I must say that I'm very interested. Esp. considering that new releases easily cost 20-30 USD in Europe at the moment.

Besides, EVD players will be dirt cheap :)

Somehow I doubt the MPAA will let its titles be sold for that cheaply...

There was also some talk about them having to pay royalties outside of China because of how similar EVD discs are to DVD-ROM's.
