What do you think about this put by Plextor on the download page of the new 1.05 firmware on their Europe website ?

Remark:
If your drive originally came with firmware V1.05 installed, it will not be possible to install a lower version of firmware.
If your drive originally came with firmware lower than V1.05, it will be possible to install a lower version of firmware after upgrading to firmware V1.05.

Interesting.
I wonder if it has something to do with the hardware (TLA) versions.

I was thinking something similar ...
I put that on line because my knowledge of these questions is not sufficient to be sure of that

This FW seems to speed up the Plex a little with TY02MIJ. :D

Thanks!
Looking forward to trying this on my two new PX-716A drives.

Both say TLA = 0304.
Is that the latest?

Unfortunately I hit two nasty potholes (it was hard to see because it was pouring all day and the 2nd one was in the dark on top of it) - I hit one during each drive pickup.
(Ironically in each case the potholes were encountered after making a slight wrong turn when getting near the respective stores, otherwise I would have avoided BOTH entirely).
I think the car suspension (and hopefully tire) survived; probably thanks to their 16 inch size and, I think, slightly wider than average profile.

:) ETP.

I sell all my drives when upgrading (other than the really old ones in my profile, which aren't worth selling since they will fetch almost nothing and, in the case of the Philips CDD3610 have nostalgia value - it was my first burner.
Imagine a 2X CD-RW on sale for $329 + tax (in 1998).

My brother asked me on Eeaster how many DVD burners I had owned; had. figured out that I have owned 11 DVD burners. That was before the two PX-716As.
The good thing is that I sold all 11, leaving me wiht just the two I bought yesterday.

The best part is that in most cases, due to getting in on hot deals in every instance and some (lucky) timing of the sales, it smetimes cost me nothing when upgrading (recouped the purchase price or sold it for the price of the new faster burner, bough with coupons, rebates, PriceMatches etc.).

But, I think I'll try to keep this just as a relatively casual hobby (i.e. hopefully not spending so much time that it interferes with the rest of my personal life).
