announced a new date for F/W Update for NEC 3520A. [-o<

"* DVD-R(DL) will be supported by F/W update. The estimated availabilty date of this firmware is May 1, 2005. It will be posted to the firmware updates page."

I'm dutch, and almost a month ago NEC Europe set the date for this F/W
update in the month March...

Maybe we get the 3540 earlier then the F/W, during April !

I'm dissapointed, lucky we have Liggy&Dee & Co.

So thats a great news for NEC fans. The current OEM price is under 70 dollars canadian and this new F/W will burn Plus and Minus DL. Not a bad deal. I am wondering If BenQ would add the Minus DL writing capability their 1620?

Probably not. That drive design has been around for awhile and is at its limits. Not to mention, they probably want you to buy the 1640 or whatever.
