Problem reading discs...

The DVD burner is a LiteON SOHW-1213SX, and on a machine with a MSI 655 Max-L / Intel 1800GHz / 4x256MB RAM new (and previously) burned DVD 4.7GB (4x) discs almost freezes the machine while waits forever trying to read the discs(s); -- on two other machines, both Asus P4S800 / Celeron 2.4GHz / 2x512MB RAM, the discs is readable almost instantly.

The software is Roxio, Easy CD & DVD Creator (version 6) and or Easy Media Creator (version 7); -- depending on the discs, if they're faster than 4x then version 7, because version 6 apparently can't burn whatever discs faster than with 4x; - I tried with 6x and 8x and almost bought a new burner because I thought that was the problem, - but when installed Roxio version 7 this problem was 'solved'.

The problem's the same whether the discs are burned on the MSI or the Asus machines.

If using re-writeable discs with Roxio 'drag-to-disc' there's no problem on any of the machines, those discs are readable right away...

My initial guess would be the disk that the drive to be read is dirty, try to clean the disk with plain cleanex paper (robbed) and then see if the problem goes away.

Well, the discs are Bulkpaq DVD+R 4x, but the problem can't be with the disc, because the disc is brand new...

As said, if the burner is connected to the MSI machine then the system 'freezes' while trying to read from the disc, which is does, eventually, only it takes a really long time...; -- if then do the same thing with the burner connected to another machine there's no problem at all, the discs is readable right away.

The problem is with the MSI machine, the question is, what could cause such a problem?

As said, the problem only is with DVD+R discs, with DVD+RW formatted with 'Drag-to-Disc' there's no problem...
