PX-716A length + Plextools.com is down?

1) I finally installed one of my two PX-716A drives.
I noticed that the drive is shorter by a few inches than my other IDE CD/DVD drives.
I thought this was interesting since I hadn't seen this mentioned before.

Have all generations (based on TLA) had shorter-than-standard lengths?

Just curious.

2) I can't access plextools.com; is the site down?
(If it isn't down I guess it may have something to do with my ISP's DNS servers; then again, that is the only site I have tried that I can't connect to at the moment).

Off to update the firmware to 1.06 (came with 1.04).

The drive has a smaller footprint to conform to new SFF (small form factor) specs for Shuttle and smaller PCs.

Yeah, the Plextor drives seem to get shorter with each generation. Plextools is always getting hammered. Try it again later.

Thanks Ian.
I'll give it a try later.

The smaller size is fine with me.
It also gives the case a little more breathing room; not much, but it can't hurt.
