Was wondering which recordable discs are best for the BenQ 1620 Pro. Specifically, im looking for 8x discs that the BenQ will write at 16x.......

Thanks in advance.

Acro Circle 8x DVD-Rs (with OPTODISCR008 code) burn quite well at 8x on the DW1620 Pro. Taiyo Yuden 8x DVD+Rs burn very well at 16x as well. Stay away from all Prodisc DVD-Rs. Verbatim is a crap shoot.

dolphinius_rex.....thanks much for the heads up on the BenQ 1620. Burned 4 discs with crappy ESA dvd+r 8x and the quality was much much better than my old crappy Samsung/TSSTCorp H552B on TDK 8x.

P.S. hey give heads up on any good deals on those Taiyo Yuden 8x discs too. Much obliged.

Where are you located? That helps a lot for hot deals!

They are a company that mainly deals with selling to other corporations. They have a (rather lame) webpage at www.precisionsound.com, and a much better (but completely unrelated to this) webpage at www.precisionduplication.com.

The number is:
416-253-1889 or
1-866-492-1889

Taiyo Yuden DVD+R 8X YUDEN000 T02 are very good. Best speed seems 12X.

For Verbatim :
I like Sony DVD+R 4X in case : they were of MCC002 mid (given by a good friend). They give incredible results @8X. Cannot find them anymore :x (burned @8X B7V9 WOPC ON) :

A pity that Verbatim DVD+R 8X (MCC003) or DVD+R 16X (MCC004) are not as good, maybe for a cost purpose !
