Spin-Up Recognition Time - Fastest Burner?

Which combo drive DVD burner has the fastest spin up / disk recognition time. What I mean is the time
from when I put the CD until the time I see my files. Most important for DVD-ROM I guess. I remember
this was an issue with my TEAC 12X CD burner. I had to wait about 5 seconds, sometimes 7-9. It
can get annoying when flopping CDs often. I also hope the drive won't be too expensive, but
I might have to spend the extra money. Any advice will be appreciated.

I *REALLY* don't recommend "flopping CDs"... it's good for neither the CDs, nor the user.

I don't know what drive is the fastest but I can tell you that it is definitely NOT the Toshiba SD-R5372.
That drive has one of the slowest recognition times I've seen...

Maybe just not something that they do? Anyone with a Plextor out there to share your experience? :)

Yeah I've seen the same from the Toshiba series, my SD-R5002 takes like 20 seconds for a DVD-R.
