I'm leaning towards buying one of these ($68 @ zzf)

Comments, concerns, experience with this drive?

Ian, Dodeca:

Would this be a good choice? The extra $ isn't a concern.

yeah, it's a good drive, and if the extra $ is no issue, i'm wondering why you'd pick the Asus drive over the Retail Pioneer A09 ?
(which is slightly better than the 109 OEM - faster ripper if i'm not mistaken, maybe a few more minor things. i don't know if the Asus drive is more like the A09 or the 109).
i would think getting the Pioneer Retail drive is better than the Asus, if for no other reason than better firmware support ?

Rebadged versions are always based on the 10X version.
Of course, you could always convert your drive to a Pioneer A09 (via firmware/kernel flashing) after you purchase it so that you can take advantage of the full speed ripping capabilities. :P
