I'm using RiData +R 8X DVD and I was burning at 8X with Nero Burner,
The errors are so high, what am I doing wrong?
I have the 03 release with 08 firmware.

I burned the disc at 8x, how was it burned in the review of Plextor? I can't seem to figure it out.

I just burned another disc the same brand at 4x and the errors were much much lower, very acceptable, all under 100. I'm just surprised that PowerRec did not kick in for 8x - I enabled it - first thing when I installed Plextools. Anybody there with similar experience?

I see a lot of people don't like Ridata. Seems to be one of the worse kinds of media. Just wondering why you didn't get 16x media?

Hello!

Is that Ritek R03? I have a stock of those media, labeled by Primedisc.

The media is not good at all and have very big quality differences from disc to disc.

That's the only thing they had in store, and I don't care about the speed that much so I just wanted to grab something.

I suggest you stick with 4x max burning speed for those Riteks. Once you use them up, get better media.

Seems to be that Pioneer has a reason for the 4x max. burning-speed for Ritek R03

Does this make sense?

It makes more sense if you consider the fact that media quality fluctuations are quite high with Ritek... so you won't see consistant results.

Yah, I mean with PowerRec disabled it was burning slower than with PowerRec enabled. It should be the other way around - technically. Ahh, I wish that my first spindle was something better I guess. I hope they continue to burn fine at 4X.
