ASUS 1608P "Communication Failure" ?

I am in need of some help here...
I just moved my ASUS 1608p from one computer to another and ever since the move... I have not been able to burn anything ( regardless of media type ). The error mesage I got from Nero is "Communication Failure" and it always occurs approximate 10 sec into the Lead-In.
The only activity this burner still does is the "Erase" function with RW discs.
My computer is a Celeron 2.2G running XP Home SP2 with Nero Express 6
