I think those sellers are just being overly optomistic by listing the drives already. If you translate the page, you see:

New product, date of delivery still unknown and depends on the manufacturer

Essentially, preorder them now but we have no idea when they show up.

Pioneer has not officially announced anything. Once they do, you'll probably see the drives in Japan first and then Europe.

That´s the point. Geizhals.at is listing some articles long time before it´s avaible.

It's for sure not a rebadged Pioneer (I don't know why anyone would believe that?).
According to previously posted info it's a TEAC design with Panasonic chipsets, manufacturing of the drive is possibly outsourced to BenQ.

When the DV-W716E was announced, it was said that it was an original TEAC design. I don't think its a rebadge of Pioneer or anyone else.

As far as the DVR-110 goes.. we have yet to see any official specs from Pioneer. It's possible that the rumors that it will write to DVD-RAM were just that.. rumors.

Going by this info, there are two versions:

DVR-110/110BK - with DVD-RAM write
DVR-110D/110DBK - no DVD-RAM write

it certainly looks like a 109, not an A09.
faceplate of the 109. an by inference, it also doesn't have the other features of the A09 (fast ripping speed; quiet utility or something etc.)

so i guess the 509 can be described as a OEM drive in a retail package (if this makes any sense at all! )

Yeah, but one of the features listed on Pioneer's website is "Quiet Drive for minimal operating noise"

• Quiet Drive for minimal operating noise.
• Liquid Crystal Control for optimum recording quality; Precision Recording to minimize the effects of long-term deterioration of re-recordable discs due to repeated writing.
• Ultra Dynamic Resonance Absorber to reduce vibrations during high-speed recording and playback of discs.

this is listed on the product pages of all 3 drives:DVR-A09XL, DVR-109 and DVR-509. so on the one had this "Quiet Drive" thing doesn't mean the 509 isn't a 109 in a retail packaging.
on the other hand this confuses me even more. i thought there were some features the A09 had that the 109 didn't - like that honeycome-thingie case. is that the Ultra Dynamic Resonance Absorber mentioned here? (if so then the 109 has it too ???) or is that something else ?

All three should have the Ultra Dynamic Resonance Absorber thing. The difference between the 109 and A09 is that the A09 has the honeycomb thing and is supported by Pioneer's Quiet Drive utility.
