Double Layer Media RipOFF !!

I have not been paying much attention lately to meda and burners ( My Pioneer DRV107 still burns like a champion and I have lots of media leftover ), however I was just in my local Toronto Futureshops , Staples, etc and noticed that Dual Layer disks are still selling at $10 per disk on average in packs of 3, unless you buy say a spindle of 15.
I remember discussing this issue many months ago and hearing the usual "Don't worry, double layer media will come down in price as it becomes mainstream". I think we are well past the "mainstream" mark and the media is expensive as ever. The way the past trends have gone, this media should be under a dollar a disk by now, but it is nowhere near this amount.
Reminds me of the 3 pack of 4x mini DVD-R's that I see in the stores for $19. ( I am sure that no one is cleaning up on that sham ).
