Hi Gang,
What a Surprise!!!!!!. My Plexter 716 found the perfect match. I thought Verbatim DVD*R DL was the best. I still think that was the best media until i tried Fuji Media. I purchased 3PK of fuji DL and perfect burn with Plexter. (I have tried TDK, Dynex,Memorex and all) I burned 3 movies and every single one was good burn and play back was flawless. May be Fuji made this for Plexter drive. I am not sure who made this media for Fuji. Please post if you have similar or different experience. I am thinking about bying a dozen of these tomorrow.

Fuji DVD+R DL is made by Ricoh, as are the TDK-branded ones, so I'm not sure why the Fuji discs worked better than the TDK ones unless they were simply a better batch.

I bought the tdk @ costco and fuji @ futureshop. I paid32.99 for 5pk tdk and 14.99 for 3pk fuji. overall fuji is better value.

I'll stick with my Verbatim's overclocked to 6x with good stability (or overclocked to 8x with less stability). I've never seen results from Ricoh DVD+RDL that made me believe it was anything more then slightly better then RITEK MID code DVD+RDL.

To me, Ricoh DVD+R DL 2.4X are superior to Ritek's DVD+R DL 2.4X :

With 1620 B7W9 (the changelog adds Ricoh DL support) :

Another one with another 1620 B7W9 :

With the LG GSA-4163B, it's even better. I've seen some amazing scan on every brand of DL (Ricoh, Philips, MKM) but RitekD01 (just average...).

Note : The new BenQ 1640 has some problems with Ricoh DL at layer break, but it's a firmware issue, I think it will be solved in the next firmare. Look here :
