I've owned my benq DVD 8x 822a model for over a year now, and it's very frustrating bcoz of it's slow encoding. I use +R 4x blank DVD's, I have the B3IC firmware installed and each time I tried to shrink dvd movies through DVD Shrink 3.2, it takes like 2-3 hours just to encode. Is there a solution to this? Please help me out. Thanks.

?

I donĀ“t know why the Benq should be to blame for slow encoding processes, the CPU must encode the movie.

Did you shrink directly from DVD or do you copy the DVD to HD and use then Shrink?

i guess benq isn't the problem for the encoding. i usually rip dvd's to my hard drive with decrypter then shrink it with dvd shrink....i've already set my drives to dma and it's still encoding slow....i'm running a 1.9 ghz with 1 gig of ram, and 120 gig of hard drive machine....is there anything wrong with my computer? thanks.

I doubt there's anything wrong with your computer, it's just a bit slow by today's standards, so encoding will take quite a while.
