I like to tell you that on this on-line shop
Verbatim "MKM-001" 2,4x certified are now sold for 3,30 € a piece.
The question is:
Can we hope for a an other slight drop in price
before the "MKM-001" MID code will disappear ?

In the meantime the new DL discs are for sale now:
DVD+R DL Verbatim 8x certified for 5,50 € a piece: Click here
and DVD+R DL RICOH 8x for 3,70 € a piece: Click here

14,90 € for a pack of 5 Verbatim DVD+R DL 2,4x "MKM-001"
at MediaMarkt in Germany (November the 7th 2005)
so that is now less than 3 € a piece
On the same shelves above single pieces very still sold for 5,99 € !

So I bought the 4 packs of 5 left for 59,6 €: that is the price of a new burner !
Now I like to know if my "old" NEC 3500A with firmware 2.1A is good enough to burn them
or if it is worth to buy a "better DL burner" in order to burn these 20 "MKM-001" ?

Choice:
Nec 4550
BenQ 1640
Pioneer 110
or wait for the: Plextor PX-760A

Futureshop still has those Memorex dual layer discs on sale (25 for $70). This comes out to $2.80 Cdn., or €2.00 a disc.
I got them in a package of 15 when they were on sale for $40 ($2.67 or €1.91 a disc). These are Ritek D01's.
