Wasn't sure if this is the right section for this post. If not, I hope a moderator will move it to where it should be.

Do any of you have any experience with the Primera Signature Z1 CD/DVD Thermal Printer? At about $130 it seems like it might be a touch high priced for a single function printer (as compared to say, a $90 Epson R200). But something about the ability to create a simple water and scratch resistant label on CDs and DVDs sounds very appealing, particularly if your handwriting is as horrible as mine is. I read a review that was overall fairly positive, but I would be interested in hearing from actual owners of this printer. Comments on the media you use with it and pics of media labeled with the Z1 would also be great if you happen to have any.

TIA

The review claims the printer can do 200 prints before needing to be replaced. This is the number Primera gives out, and is probably true if you only write a simple line on each disc... but I have heard it is normally much less then 200 discs.

This printer is not cost effective as a labelling solution, but if you are looking for something that is able to make a lable that's water proof, it's probably your best option. Inkjet media laminators are pretty expensive, so most consumers don't usually go that way.

It's monochrome, say goodbye to colorful labels.
