BenQ's new LightScribe drive..

That eject button is HUGE. It's good for those with sausage fingers. :D

Well, there's lot's of room now, since they did away with audio crontrols and earphone jack. :wink:

Any word on how it differs from the 1640 or 1650? There aren't any specs on BenQ's site.

The specs should be the same as the DW1650. From my understanding, the two drives use the same hardware design.

The choice will be difficult between the new LG 4166 (DVD-RAM+LightScribe) and the new BenQ 1655 (PI/PIF+LightScribe)... =P~

I hope that LG will bring a better FW for the 4166

Because I deal with BenQ Taiwan, and BenQ Canada, and between the two of them, I tend to get good answers to these sorts of questions. Of course, that only concerns RETAIL drives usually, so Plextor OEM's might arrive sooner then expected.

Have the Benq LS Spec. 2? It should be faster than the old LS, but how fast?

The DW1625 should support faster LS media as well.

No idea. I haven't been able to get any of the faster media yet.
