I have never had any DVD writer, some experience with CDs though. Now I want to buy a DVD writer and I found 3 choices in my country, the price tag is similar but I have no idea whats the best choice, can somebody help me?

The 3 choices are:

- Aopen DUW1616/ARR
- LG GSA-4163B
- Sony DRU-800A

What do I look at? Any experience with any of them?
Thanks in advance.
Brad.

This is in the wrong forum to begin with. This section is for DVD-ROMs.

As for what burner to get, I suggest reading these threads first:

They'll give you some insight on what people have said the last bunch of times this type of question was asked.

Thanks for your opinions and the links.
Bad luck we have not the Benq1640 here, just the 1620.
My guess is I should go for the LG, not sure yet.

I really like the 4163. It has done some fabulous burns for me. It burns Verbatim DL media better than my PX716 (in my limited testing). My only concern is that model is getting a bit old and I'm not sure how much longer firmware will be produced for it.

LG!

The DRU-800 is not bad at all, but the AOpen is one of the worst drives I ever had. Only with some media it´s not bad, but far away from good.
