My 1st LightScribe experience, need expert tips

I bought a 10pack of Verbatim DVD+R and even before burning the data, I burned the LightScribe side. :-)

Well, I need some LS expert. Are all LS coating the same? Because what I found is that the contrast is not that great. The 100% Black text is not really black. This is about my only problem.

Otherwise, it's slow for doing 30 copies like I need to do but since it a special project that won't happen anytime soon, I think it's ok for personnal project.

BTW I flashed the latest firmware since there was an indication that LS was improved in the newest firmware.

some people recommend putting the disc through twice to improve the look of the print.

I've found that LS doesn't look as good on DVD's due to the color being darker. Like dolph said, run it through a couple of times. Make sure the contrast is set to best as well.

It is really worth having this feature when you have to spend approximately 3 hours (runing through 2-3 times) to make a label on one sigle disc?.

Yeah, a second pass is very welcome... but why they cannot get the two pass result in only one pass? There must be something to do here. They should either look to amplify the laser or do the second pass on the fly.

Now, anyone tested the 1st pass at Best quality then the second pass at Fastest? Is there chance to screw up the quality of the 1st pass doing this?

I always launch two passes in best quality. The process takes less than one hour with last LS drivers and Nero 6.6.0.18 on my LG 4166 fw 1.01.
