TDK 840G firmware issue and burning problems!!!

PostPosted: Tue Jan 31, 2006 8:52 pm

Well, i wasn't able to use the firmware from 1.07 to 1.11... I get an error message that says "firm ware update is failed" System error (Win32) code 1117. The whole reason for the firmware was to try and burn using memorex DVD -R 4x discs.

Here is my log. I installed a fresh copy of 6.0.0.0 because it used to work before the upgrade to 6.6.0.8 It was a clean install and uninstall so thats not the problem. Can anyone tell me what is wrong?

It looks like you're using the NVIDIA IDE drivers. I wouldn't be surprised if they were causing the problem.

That was the problem, I was just coming back to post what it was. I upgraded to the Nvidia Nforce MCP2 IDE controller so that the primary and secondary drives would actually show up under computer manage. I was able to configure them to DMA, and now it works. I forgot to upgrade the drivers, after I reinstalled my nvidia chipset. I feel like a noob.
