Hi all

Please could you help.

This is brand new out of the box.

Before this i had a Freecom external which was working fine with Nero 7 Premium then suddenly stopped recognising DVD media so i took it back got another, exactley the same. Spoke to Freecom tech and they confirmed faulty drive. Money back time.

So i bought the LG exactly the same.

I've heard it could be Nero causing the problems and told to uninstall and try again.

Only this time i keep getting SHELLMANAGER IS CORRUPT OR MISSING.
Now i can't do anything.

Please help

Thanks

Hello!

When you insert a media, did the drive-LED blinking some seconds and then it´s off? If it so, i think the drive recognize it and it could be a software/driver problem. Make sure you use up-to-date USB-drivers.

Do you use the newest Nero 7? When not, upgrade it and try again. Or deinstall Nero complete and re-install it. If that is also not successful, try latest version of Nero 6.6

Download and use the Nero Clean Tool: http://ww2.nero.com/nero7/enu/Nero7_CleanTool.html before you reinstall Nero 7. That should take care of the error message.

Hi Guys thanks for your replys but!!

I have just formatted the laptop (only 5 months old) put on every thing
Windows etc.

Before putting on Nero tried the drive exactly the same.

Put on Nero 7 premium exactly the same.

And why would the original drive (freecom) be OK then just stop.

Any ideas the laptop is a Fujitsu AMILO Pro V2030. Also i have noticed
in the system hardware device manager, it used to in the disc drive section now its only a USB mass storage device.

Thanks
