I do, they are the big 4 to 5 inch cirlces glued on the outside of the dress.

These are not the kind seen here - the little metallic ones that pierce the skin. Perhaps she has those also, but on the inside where we can't see them. :P

I have to wonder why JVC keeps pushing 8.5GB DVD-RWDL media.... have they even gotten a drive manufacturer to support it yet?

This yahoo article about the BluRay and HDDVD standoff at CeBit caught my attention:
http://news.yahoo.com/s/nm/20060309/tc_ ... y_hddvd_dc

This quote in particular caught my eye:

Asked if consumers would have to buy their favorite movies again, Blu-ray spokesman Simonis said: "Of course! But it will enrich your life."

I actually feel like smacking that BluRay spokesman upside the head :-?

Enrich your lives? Don't they mean enrich our stock holders?

Well looks like they have forgotten why dvd's sell so well again, they're cheap, offer great video, and a ton of extra features. I paid 1225 for my HDTV last year, had to buy a HD tuner for another 250, and now they think I'm gonna fork over almost as much for a lousy player, DON'T THINK SO!
When the price comes down on media and they have dual format player also for cheap I'll jump. I can make backups of all the dvd's I bought, whether I'm sposed to or not so I get extra value for my money and I have portability. I think that option will take a while so I hope it sits there till they get the true picture and give us what we really want.

the difference between DVD and Video Cassettes (VCR) was more significant than the difference between HD/BlueRay/HDDVD and current Video/DVD, no? less incentive. the die-hards will buy the new technology in any case, but for the majority of the people there will be little reason to buy the new technology, till it comes down significantly in price.
(i don't think the extra features, "interactive" stuff etc., will be that much of an attraction).
