Does anyone know who makes the Verbatim 16x DVD-Rs that Best Buy sells?

Because they're not Data Life Plus and because they're made in Taiwan, I just asumed that they couldn't be Mitsuibishi discs. But I just bought one Verbatim 16x from another store, and although they were made in Taiwan, it was a Mitsubishi. So, I'm wondering what these Verbatim discs that Best Buy sells are. Does anyone know?

Here's the media code for the one that I bought from another store, that like the Best Buy Verbatims, are made in Taiwan:

--------------------------------------------------------------------------
Unique Disc Identifier : [DVD-R:MCC 03RG20 ]

Disc Type : [DVD-R]
Manufacturer ID : [MCC 03RG20 ]
Manufacturer Name : [Mitsubishi Chemical Corp.]
Disc Application Code : [Unrestricted Use : Consumer Purpose]
Recording Speeds : [1x , 2x , 4x] (8x Cannot Be Detected)
Blank Disc Capacity : [2,298,496 Sectors = 4,489.3MB = 4.38GB (4.71GB)]

Except when you live in North America... then most of them (or maybe just the ones in Canada?) are made by Prodisc

Yeah, it seems like the Source got a lot of Prodisc with their latest shipment of 16X Verbatim. Hopefully this is a one time thing.

Just so we don't confuse gm2015, we mean Mitsubishi media but made in Taiwan by CMC and Prodisc. I've had fairly good results with MCC004 made by Prodisc, having tested two different batches (one branded, the other wide inkjet printable).

Is there a way to tell the Prodisc from CMC Verbatims prior to purchase? (or, well, after purchase??)

Old thread, and it refers to 8x media, but the information still applies. There is a marked difference in the cakeboxes of Prodisc-made MCC and CMC-made MCC.
