Another question: I think in Israel is a lack of new media, too, am I right? I don´t know how long it takes for avaible 12x RAM-media

Maxell currently has no plans to launch the 12x DVD-RAM in North America, or pretty much anywhere other then Japan, and maybe Europe eventually for the moment.

H10A uses Renesas R8J32018FPV chipset.

And according to this thread ( http://club.cdfreaks.com/showthread.php?t=174602 ), H10N uses RENESAS R8J32018FPV too...

Hey guys, since both the H10A AND H10N uses the same Renesas chipset, and judging from past experiences, is it safe to say the H10A can be flashed into a H10N? I remember a time when some folks were able to turn their LG 8x into 16x drives.

Me neither. Are you sure you don't mean Lite-On?

Would you happen to have any Ritek D01 discs to test in that drive?

Yeah, I can try it with that.

With us selling the house and getting ready to move, I haven't had much time to play with this drive. I have a new firmware I need to try too.

Thanks! I recently bought a lot of these and I'm still trying to find the best drive to use them in. This is about as good as I can get from these:

They're still pretty readable though; out of 5 discs I've tried my 1640 can read them at a minimum of 8x CAV without slowdowns.

and how well...i'm always suspicious of these cross-flashes in terms of writing quality...esp. when adding features.

From quality scans of cross flashed H10A-H10N drives so far (in the CDFreak's link from Bhairav's post), burn quality is good and no problems have been encountered so far.

The only thing no one knows for sure is if the cross flashed drive can burn 12x DVD-RAM discs. That is down to the fact that nobody with one of those drives can get hold of 12x DVD-RAM discs to run tests, so far.

The GSA-H10A is available outside of Japan. Unless you're talking about the media, which I have.

Until somebody can tell who manufactures them
could we at least have the media code of these new Maxell 12x DVD-RAM's ?
Is the media code something like MXLxxx
or something like: M01-Jxxxx ??

So there are at least MXL17 and MXL22 out there supporting 12x DVD-RAM burns.
