Media scans and media temperature/how soon can you scan?

when i take a disc out of the drive, either having just burned it or even having read it, it is warm to the touch.
damn, i put a DVD i just burned in the drive just before this post and forgot it there for 5 minutes, it gets warm from just sitting in the drive! :o :x

question:
how does the disc temperature affect the quality scans? anyone test this out ?

do you do a media scan right after having burned the disc or do you wait a little for the disc to cool off ? possibly also for the drive to cool off ?

A very good question.

Myself, I do scans right after the burn. I do however make sure the drive I use to scan (my 1620) gets a chance to cool down in between scans/burns (usually I don't use my 1620 to burn)...
