Just wondering.

I'd like to get rid of my SH-162L for the 18x model...much better burn quality (save for the random Verbatium 16 DVD-R failures).

The SATA version would be very useful, too

I know that in the past Samsung has been hesitant to bring SATA drives to the US. Their just isn't the demand for them and they were concerned about the overwhelming number of support issues due to incompatible motherboard chipsets.

That sucks. Intel really, really seems to be pushing for the end of PATA.

I don't mind PATA for optical drives...it's just new mobo's only have a single PATA port...and, well, check my sig
