Hi all ...
I presently use 2 NEC 3540 drives that work fine.
I have always wanted to get a Plextor and this may be the time for me.
The PX760A doesn't seem to be a rebadged model like the models before it.
I would like to have Plextools and use some of the cool options it has.
BTW nice review Ian, how's the married life, it's been afew years now
:D

Do you need 18x writing speeds? If not, the PX-755A is also a great choice. It has all of the same features as the 760A, minus its 18x writing speeds.

If Canadian, most likely the 755 is SATA...and that will cost you a few bucks more. Plextor America doesn't market the 755ATAPI

I swapped out a NEC3520 and installed the PX760 as slave to my Asus dvdrom drive.
Installed Plextools XL Pro as well and activated it ... looks interesting :)
Can't wait to have the time to play around with this app.
The only test I have had time to do is ripping with dvdfab and then using dvd shink which used nero 6613 to burn the dvd. Used Maxell 4x dvd+r media which burned at 8x just like on the nec before it.
