"According to sources at Lite-On, the LH-20A1P should be available in a matter of weeks"

How many weeks is a "matter"

Yeah, the OEM version of the LH18A1P is available through Newegg too. I've thought about ordering one but I'd rather review a retail unit.

Go check out some of the scans of the latest drives, you might be surprised at the 16X burns coming out.

I ordered myself a LH-18A1P. If I can get the firmware for the LH-20A1H, I'll give it a try.

If you find the firmware it will need modification before you can crossflash. I do know someone who can do it...

Maybe the retail package includes a "premium" piece of 4x DVDR. :P

I agree with you though, it is pretty funny that the promotional images show a 4x piece of media. lol

I am looking forward to some quality scans, feedback and reviews on this "20x" DVD burning...

Does the retail box come with a DVD-RAM driver for Windows 2000? Here I am with that new LG drive capable of using 12x DVD-RAM, but no driver. Nero can write to it though, but it doesn't act much different than a DVD+/-RW.

Most drive manufacturers are just including InCD.
