Not Recognizing Blank CDs

Okay. I recently pieced myself together a nice little chunk of machinery. But I have an issue with it. I got a PLextor PX-755A combo dvd/cd burner. It reads cds and dvds just fine. But it won't read blanks. I cant burn any cds on it. Another thing with it is that...okay you know the tray icon, for plug and play devices. that lets u stop operations so you can safely remove it. My internal drive is in that list. and I can stop it~ etc. like it was my mp3 player. Anyone got any ideas. Ive searched around and couldnt find anyone with this problem~

::EDIT:: Okay I fixed it. I thought I'd let you know how, because it was extremely easy and I'm an idiot for not doing it before. I went to that plug and play taskbar icon. Opened it~ I went to the properties of the dvd drive and went to the drivers tab. I clicked the "Uninstall - To uninstall the driver (Advanced)" and clicked okay. (The drivers for this drive were alread in windows obviously, i didn't have to install them.) Then I reinstalled. And HEY! Guess what? It worked. And I am a bafoon for not doing that earlier. But maybe someone else is too and can use this post. =D

Well. Just incase I say something wrong. sorry lol . But I dont think the IDE cause im not using the IDE cables? o.O . but i uninstalled its drivers from the devicemanager. so i figured whatever base hardware driver that is~ But i obviously cant completely get rid of that since the driver is already prepackaged into windows~
