Hi out there it,s been a bit quiet concerning Lite-on,s new 20x speed
dvd burner.
Has any one purchased this writer, what do they think of it.
Is it worth purchasing.
Dell.

I've got mixed feelings about it. There's no denying its fast and it does produce decent results with some media but Lite-On still has some work to do.

After I purchased a LH-18A1H I think it´s better to stop buy a LiteOn again.

It´s very loud, it caused coasters, the good error-correction (of older LiteOn-drives) is non-existent

I still recommend Pioneer 111, it´s much better than most other drives

If you think the LH-18A1H is loud (and it is), you won't like their 20x writers. When writing at 20x, it sounds like a jet taking off.

I read many things about the 18x and 20x-drives from Liteon, so i´m also sure that i don´t try one.

What drives u already have, Dellboy?

The Liteon use MTK-chipset, similar to ur Samsung.
