Highest quality DVD+R DL burner?

Well, looks like I'm not going to be able to use my PX-716 in this rig. So, need a burner that rocks for Verbatium DVD+R DL 2.4x discs.

I have a 111D; it's so-so, but nothing like the Plex:

I was planning on a Pioneer 112 when they hit newegg. Has anyone see any DL scans from that?

Thanks :D

Looks like I may have to nab some 8x DL discs...those are looking pretty good!

Hoxlund, I replied in the other thread...I'm going to try once more on a different SATA slot.

The scan I posted here is old, but from the same PX-716SA drive. Look at the 2nd scan I posted in the other thread. Went from a PIE average of 7.6 to >700. :o

Something is not right with that.

U can´t compare scans with different drives, thats not a reliable test

True.

I have compared the scans of the same disc from the BenQ & Lite-On drives, and other than the PIF values (due to differances in CDSpeed/Kprobe's reporting methods) they seem to be fairly close.

Even accounting for minor differances, the 2nd scan (Kprobe one) is just flat-out horrible.

The first scan would be very good even for a single layer disc!

I do need to plug back in the old BenQ drive, though...
