Plextor Europe has announced two new 20x DVD writers. The PX-860A (PATA) and PX-860SA (SATA) don't seem to support PlexUTILITIES but they are capable of 20x DVD±R, 12x DVD±R DL and 12x DVD-RAM writing speeds. If I had to fathom a guess, I'd say that they're based on the Pioneer DVR-116 and DVR-216 or the newer DVR-117 and DVR-217.

I had to laugh at their press release. I take it the person writing this stuff doesn't know how big Plextor was back in the day.

Plextor is fast becoming known as the premium personal storage experts, having built up an impressive range of optical and hard disk-based products.

Yeah... In my eyes, Plextor is fast at becoming forgotten.
