is there anything similar to Plextor PX-650US PlexEasy?

just curious, since it seemed like this was a very unusual device at the time

I can't remember the last time I saw a new DVD writer, let alone one with features like PlexEasy. ;)

There aren't a lot of similar products out there. The only other one I found was this:

You'd probably have a better chance of finding a hard drive that does SD card backups.

thanks, but I might have misread what the plextor did. I read that it could backup media w/o the need for a computer, I thought that also applied to cds and dvds, but I'm not so sure anymore. I know there exists some standalone media copiers, but all the ones I have seen were these huge, bulky machines. none were as small and portable as the plextor.

The PlexEasy only copied SD cards to disc without a computer. If you want to copy CDs and DVDs without a computer, you'll need a duplicator. And yeah, those are usually pretty big. I did find this one that had two slim drives in it.
