Hi all,

Can anyone with what reading features the Liteon 166S drive supports for EAC (Exact Audio Copy).

I am curious whether the drive caches audio data, supports accurate stream, and is capable of retrieving C2 error information.

If anyone has used this drive with EAC, can you post you results/opinions of it.

Thanks!

I haven't actually used EAC with the 166S, so I can't report how it does in general, but I can tell you the answers to your three specific questions: yes, yes and yes.

Don't forget to check the premiere EAC forum (EAC author Andre Weithoff posts here):

And if you have never used EAC before, you might want to look at this tutorial. It is a little outdated, but the concepts should still be useful:

Thanks for the reply.

I was hoping that the 166S did NOT cache audio data. This is slows down the secure ripping process if EAC is used. BTW, I am quite familiar with EAC.. (:

Hardwire: Do you know the read offset for the LTD-166S drive? I can't figure it out because I have only 2 CDs from the CD set, and both have different read offsets.

Sorry I don't have the read offsets. I was trying to gather more info about the drive before I go out and buy one...
