Thanks to another post at vcdhelp.com
for the following:

This coincides nicely with the 4X DVD-R burner (A05 model) from Pioneer
having become available (i.e. in-stock) in the past day or so).

Pioneer media has always been over-priced :(

I just bought a 5 pack of Philips DVD+R media at CompUSA (with my gift card from the QPS rebate issue) for $3 a piece BEFORE $5 rebate, so that works out to about $2 a piece (not including small sales tax of a bit over a dollar for the 5 pack).

Oh guess what; I had previously purchased about $8.50 of TDK DVD-R media with the $100 gift card, then approximately $16 today for the Philips media. That left a balance of $76 on the gift card.
The cashier gave me my receipt and the discs, and get ready for this,
tossed my $76 gift card in the trash can next to her register!!She apparently saw the (no change) and thought it applied to the gift card, rather than what it really meant - the exact amount of the purchase was tendered, due to it being a gift card purchase.
She was apologetic.

I actually got a laugh out of it.
Good thing I wasn't distracted (as sometimes happens) and was paying attention!
