DVD Burner On A Pentium 2?

I saw DVD Recorders are coming down in price. Memorex has one for $300. Would a DVD burner work on a Pentium II 350 with 256mb of ram? Would it put a strain on my system? I know I probably wouldn't be able to use the true DVD burning speed. Thanks, Craig.

No problem, I think, unless you want to re-encode a large amount of MPEG-2 and MPEG-4 video files everyday with your P-II 350MHz machine for DVD recording.

I agree with Kennyshin, burning DVDs on your PII machine shouldn't be a problem unless you are doing some other heavy duty stuff. But when you want to encode an MPEG file, to make it fit on a dvd, it would be pretty slow. My PIII 866mhz feels slow doing encoding, so it would take quite a lot of time on a PII. But as far as burning the DVD is considered, there shouldn't be any problem.
